First shots on my SLR

I purchased a used Canon 10D from David Conklin. My first Digital SLR. Moving up from my Fuji Finepix S3000. From 3.1 mp to 6.3. I purchased a 17-40 lens, a 430 flash, some extra accessories, and a small Victor Smith 2 piece light kit from a friend. I joined Yahoo’s photography chat this evening and we began to challenge each other to take photographs, edit them, and submit them online within an hour. This is not much, but it was fun. I’m looking forward to buy a strobe kit in the future. I can tell that lighting will play a huge role in the type of studio photography I plan to shoot. (paint on cloth), (shower nozzle), (objects on stool top).
